Perfect for Graduations, Weddings, Blessing-Ways, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Festivals, Parties
HENNA (MEHNDI) is made from the crushed leaves of the Henna plant and the paste is applied to the surface of the skin. The "stain" usually lasts one to three weeks and varies in hue from dark browns to red-rust. Henna has been practiced throughout India, Africa, and the Middle East for over five thousand years! Known for its power to protect, bring good luck and provide material as well as spiritual wealth, henna (also called "the plant of happiness") is thought of as a luck charm or blessing and used in all kinds of ceremonies having to do with rites of passage. |

Henna also has many medicinal properties, mainly used in desert regions as a cooling agent. It is also used as a coagulator for open wounds, a poultice made with henna leaves soothes burns and eczema. Its soothing qualities are especially effective when henna is applied to the palms of the hands which contain numerous nerve endings and so relaxing the whole body. Henna was used on the hair and nails of the pharaohs and on the skin to achieve the look of a tattoo. Unlike tattoos however, there is no skin-piercing pain or permanence, it is completely herbal and even conditions the skin. Henna may be the most commonly used cosmetic in human history!
